Henry’s on Rouse, located at The Henry Parkes Motel, is a great place to eat in Tenterfield when you need an easy continental breakfast or a relaxed dinner. Open Tuesday to Saturday for breakfast and six days a week (closed on Sundays) for dinner, Henry’s has a solid menu with starters, mains, sides, and dessert. Appetisers include salt and pepper calamari, Korean crispy pork belly, and char-grilled beef kofta. Their mains menu has filling choices, from chicken parmy to baked Atlantic salmon fillet to spaghetti and meatballs. If you’re really hungry, try the four-hour braised lamb shank in a 12-hour master stock that comes with creamy mash and ratatouille on the side. Henry’s also has an array of sides, from pear and parsnip mash to garlic thyme roast potatoes, with the option to add extra gravy. Families are welcome, with a dedicated kids’ menu featuring dishes like tenders and chips, all served with ice cream. Cap off your meal with sweet treats like sticky date pudding with salted caramel or the daily dessert special.
