Clare Lee and the Windy Station Woolshed team have brought a biannual ‘dinner party’ style food experience to the heart of the Liverpool Plains, inviting guests to discover and enjoy regional produce. Here, Clare talks about the success of the first Dinner Party and what’s in store for Autumn 2025.

If you could describe the first Dinner Party in three words, what would they be?

Food. Wholesome. Community.

What were your highlights from the first event?

Overall I was so happy with how it all went, of course I was really nervous too and there are things I will do differently next time. But I’d like to think that of every event – always striving to make it a better experience! Highlights for me were the people involved, Cathy Armstrong, Kate Day and Sophie Hansen are just fabulous people. I love working with them, they are such generous and lovely souls. I do have a particular highlight though – once the board had cleared and the guests had left, a handful of us sat in the woolshed for a few more hours. We discussed good wine, broken flanges and big ideas. It was a golden moment.

How has the dinner party influenced your planning for the next event?

People are willing to travel and invest for impactful experiences. We have gone to the next level for the Autumn event and I am so excited for it.

Are you able to reveal any clues about what’s in store for the Autumn event?

Smoke and fire – we are off to Latin America! There will be two events next time round, so mark your diaries for Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 May. Together with The Paddock by VC events, we have teamed up with Atticus Hospitality – creators of award-winning restaurants including Tequila Mockingbird, Esteban and Casa Esquina, all in Sydney. We are bringing a truly high end dining experience to the Liverpool Plains.
