Located on Queen Street in Barraba NSW, The Playhouse Hotel has taken over what used to be known as the Central Hotel or the town’s Top Pub. Built from handmade brick in 1905, the hotel was modernised in 1955 at the height of the wool boom, and then again in 2007 when the current owner Andrew Sharp took it over. Turning the disused pool room into an 80-seat theatre, Andrew transformed the pub into what it is today, Barraba’s premier destination for food, accommodation, entertainment and business conferences. Boasting ensuite bathrooms in all rooms, reverse-cycle air conditioning, high-speed Wi-Fi, a small kitchenette with tea and coffee-making facilities, a bar fridge and queen-sized beds, The Playhouse can comfortably accommodate 22 guests and prides itself on its delightful facilities, right down to the shady, vine-covered courtyard and cafe its guests are free to enjoy.
